First Sunday in Advent ...

...and I love the start of Christmas...
decorations.. the first candle to lit...and just
take Christmas joy in your soul....

We don´t celebrate it in a special way... just with a little
saffron bread... and an extra cozy day...
So I got up early and baked...

...mmmmmmm...
Baking with saffron...
...first smell of Christmas...
I long for my afternoon tea and a slice of this bread...
Viktor already have tasted... :o)
(by the way he is better... no fever... and just coughing)

Advent bread
150 gr of Butter
5 dl of milk
0,5 gr saffron
50 gr yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 dl sugar
ca 12-14 dl wheat flour
Filling...
Mandelmassa
(when translating it said  Marzipan...
well I dont know if its the same thing)
Butter
Raisins

Melt butter, poor milk in the melted butter..and let it be 37 C...
add saffron in the milk
disperse the yeast in a bowl...and add buttermilk and dissolve..
add salt, sugar and wheat flour..
and work the dough to a shiny but not to firm dough..
Let it rest at least 30 min...
Prepare filling...
Grate the Marzipan..and stir in butter to a soft consistence..

Now the dough should have risen to double size...
work on the table some more ...
split in two parts...
Roll out to a rectangle..
and spread on the filling...and sprinkle raisins over..
Roll it together...
and divide in to bits and place in a buttered form...
Set aside to rest for another 30 minutes...
Bake out the other one... :o)

Brush with egg and add pearl sugar

Bake in oven...
225 C for 12-15 min
If you make small ones.. bake for 8 minutes..

Good luck...
ENJOY!!!

Thanks for asking...

where I am... :o)
Thank you my friends...
Im still here...
just a little bit down due to darkness and weather
I HATE THE DARK and COLD DAYS...
pheew... and they will long for very VERY long...

Dont have any energy when coming home and
don't feel for either blogging or sewing..
and I don´t like that... so I feel sad for that too...

...from my window at the sewing room...
white and light...
and after that it started to rain and getting grey and DARK...
Even Viktor complained about the short daylight...
But this weekend the weather have changed a bit and I have
seen the sun for two days...
so I hope it will stay like this for a  while...

In the middle of all the "darkness" a little sunshine was sent
to me as an early Christmas gift...
Australia...
Stina..she said.. you have to open it right away...
and she didn't have to tell me that twice!!!! :o)

Isn't this the most beautiful and fantastic little tree...
Love the little yo yo flowers in Christmas colours...
It will be a real pride and joy to decorate next weekend
It will look wonderful beside my other white tree...
Thank you Lyn!!!

Nothing much have been made around here...
sent some blocks to Marica in our Mini block swap with Louise..
recived Louise´s beautiful blocks...
but these I cant show yet... :o)

And this weekend I hoped for some sewing...
but still nothing have been done...
sigh..
but I made a blogentry.. didn´t I??
So what have happened ...
The Yearly Old fashioned Christmas Market
was held this weekend in Öjebyn where I live...
It is held in the old part with the Church and the old small
church cottages...
(This is by the way on my way to work..
and I love walking around among the old houses...)

And see.. the sun is shining...and NO snow!!!
I love to go here...
a lot of nice handcrafted items are for sale...
just wish I had LOTS of Money!! :o)

See ...what I mean...

Love the bracelets made of tin thread and leather...
And the Yule Goats made of spruce rice...
and lovely Wirework... this I would love to learn!!!
follow the link and take a look at what he makes!!!
I did some shopping there... :o)

And I also shopped here...

at Marias lovely shop
"JAG BLOMMAR"
(Take a look at her lovely blog!)
I bought myself a PEP talk picture!!!
A reminder...to have a
"Happy Day"
So..
I hope from now on.. it will only be light and
happy days..and some sewing for me!!!
And a quick recovery for my Mum that took a nasty fall
this week and hurt her shoulder and arm really bad..
hope it wont be necessary with an operation..
Hang in there Mum!!

See you soon I hope.. hope it wont be this long until next time!!!

Where was I ???

Hmmm...
Quiltweekend  last weekend
and a challenge with scraps from Marica...

She told us before we went to take small scraps with us..
so okidoki I grabbed my small pieces and
wondered what could be made from them... :o)

How was I to know it was going to be something
I definetly needed!!!!
Marica had prepared small bags with
snaphooks, cute buttons...and a tiny little flower...
And this is what it became...
...Lanyards....
Thanks for a fantastic idea Marica..
I have used mine all the time since then...
and it is GREAT!!! :o)

Earlier that week I got this in the mail...
...a fantastic pre Christmas gift...
Pink scissorfob.... Christmas Pincushion..
and sweet red buttons... :o)
from Sandy at
in Argentina...
Thankyou so much Sandy...!!

Ok.. after showing my picture of the quilt in the machine the other day.. I have had lots of questions regarding the black "thing" ontop of my quilt!!!

When we went to Norway last month
I visited my Machine Doc...
and he fixed my machine so I could quilt..Thankyou for that..
but then he also had this ...
Ok.. I had looked on it before..and asked and you know all that kind of questions..Is it good...does it work??? And so on..
So he said.. take it home and test...:o)
And so I did...finally.. after backproblems..and whatever...
So did I like it???
Definitely not at first...
didn't get the hang of it...
(need that DVD... that was supposed to come along with it)
Does anyone else have the Fab-U-motion???
TIPS thankyou!!! :o)

But after a while I kind of got along...
and best of all I could sit pretty long times behind the machine
quilting with no stress on arms and shoulders...
So I shall quilt one more to test..
but I think I like it! :o)

Took my schnibble out for some air today....
and took pictures...l
..and I have hanged my new quilt on its
place in the livingroom/kitchen...
Do you think husband have seen it yet??? ;o)

Hope for another and better week than the last one..
WITHOUT nasty surprises...
To make long story very short..
Make sure friends are friends...
my daughter found out this the hard way!!
HUGS to you all...
