Yummy for me....

...ahhh...
...Summers bliss...
Strawberries from the North of Sweden..
so much sweeter than other ones...
Grown under midnight sun...
they receive a special taste...
Nothing better!!!

This is what DH came home with last night...
Delicious Strawberries!!!!
... and the same day... some more "yummy" things came ...
fiesta for the eyes and mind!!!

Kim Diehls new book Simple Comfort...
and Folk Art Favourites from Joined at the Hip...
and a pattern....
Sweet Dreams...
Have waited so long for these ones to come...
but now they are here...
... have to read them a little bit more.. and decide what to make.. and WHEN!!!
The Sweet Dreams quilt I have seen on Sintas blog..and fell in love with it.. so
I ordered the fabrics in last blog entry to use for it...
Want some more home alone evenings... !!!!

A little sewing have been done...
needed to test sew my small 1 1/4" squares to something...
...and I chose nine patches..
Love them.. .
Think I will use this design... simple and easy...
don´t know if I will make it bigger.. or just make a little doll quilt!!!

See you...

Scraps...

Thankyou all who left comments and thoughts about us getting well...
Doctors test of Viktor seemed to be fine....
nothing showed on ECG and blood tests ... so we hope everything will soon pass..
So Thanks all for your kind words!!

Last night I was home alone and after a day of cleaning I could sit in my sewingroom and play...
and I have had this huge mountain with scraps...
so I started to cut them into strips and later today into squares...
I know CRAZY!!!
But I can throw away ANY fabric...!!!
...looks pretty organized ...dont you think???
Couldnt just cut all night so I prepared this one for attaching the binding....
...and I played with my tiny scraps...
1" cut and 1/2 " finished squares...
ohhh.. it was so much fun...
And Im home alone tonight too...
so I better get myself up and sew now...
or cut...
and in 45 minutes a film is on Tv.. so then I will sew the binding on...
See you later!!!

I´m home....

from both of my trips....
I had a wonderful time at Louise...
just sorry time did fly way too fast ...
needed one week more!!!

Bus Trip home went just fine...
didn't have to sit on the floor this time...

Washed some clothes and packed again for...
Surprise Road Trip with Mom!!

She came late Monday evening...
not knowing a thing of what we were up to..
and this is something my Mom have very hard to accept...
but she did fine... she had her little bag packed just as I said...
And on Tuesday morning the trip started to EAST!!!
That was all I said...

But when we had travelled about 15 Swedish miles (93 miles)
she started to talk about IKEA!!!
And yes she was right...
IKEA was the target for the day...
but we had one more surprise for her..
My Brother (lives in Stockholm) with his family drove
and joined us ... just sorry my second brother and family couldn't join us...
they are waiting their third child any day now... so they couldn´t come!!!
We timed perfectly.. and met at the entrance....
SURPRISE!!!
You should have seen her face...
Spent the day in Haparanda...
and the kids loved the visit
The Worlds largest Candy Store!!!!!
Candy World
Guess if they shopped...

After this.. the trip continued to her hometown Harads...
She haven't been there for a very very long time!!!
Both my Grandparents lived there... but they are all gone now....

My Brother have taken over our Grandparents (fathers side) home...
and they are going to use it for summer vacations...
and they have started some renovations...
The house is really special...
with beautiful ceilings and wonderful doors and windows...
When my Grandparents first came here from the South of Sweden ..
(Grandfather got a teachers job)
the house was soooo dark...
outside the windows there were planted pine and spruce to cover the windows
..so no light would come in!!!!

Strange or what!!!!
That was the first to go!!!
Some interior painting is still original..
you can see the brown around windows and on the brown door...
it was brown and dark inside tooo..

Oh ... here we have spent all my summers when I was a kid..
so many memories are from here..
Just happy ones!!!

We also had a little trip down
Memory Lane with Mom...

This cafe...
where they baked the most wonderful bread I know...
I often slept at my Grandparents ( mothers side)
and I was always served tea
with cinnamon sticks in special Green cups...
and with this sweet bread with butter and cheese...
and ahhh.... I was in heaven...
...Such sweet memories...
And this house is where my Mom grew up...
My Grandfather had a Garage and was a Blacksmith...
its the larger building...
My Mom was a bit disappointed of all the bushes and trees
that had grown up everywhere...
And she was right!!

Later that day.. we had prepared a Surprise Dinner..
in a city 5 Swedish miles (31 miles) away...
to an old 1700-century house ...
that they have restored and built a restaurant ...
"NorrigÄrden" in Boden..

What a wonderful place!!!
Loved the painted walls.. it was very beautiful!
The food was so so delicious and the interior was absolutely wonderful!!!
Mom really was enjoying her day.. and we loved to spoil her some..
it use to be the other way around!!!

The third day we just spent together..doing nothing special...
had good food and rested...
Days did go fast this time too...
Mom is now at home ..hardworking at the farm..
think she regret going home!!!
Love you Mom.. take care!!
And Happy Birthday in advance!!

Tomorrow...
I will start working...
got these news Thursday...
so a lot needs to be taken care of...
so for now .. I don't really know what to feel!!!
Will be worst for Viktor ... a lot of time spent alone...
and I don't like that!

Well...
I hope everything will go really fine...
and that my finger will hold this time!!!

I will wait for my Mum to come...

Didn´t have so much time to figure out what to take with me...

I got bored to sew on my project... :o)
I sew at the kitchen table...since we dont eat here...LOL...
dont have time for that... :o)

On Wednesday I worked on a secret project..so that I cant show...
And this was the project I had in my bag....

Have some more blocks ready to be stitched on.. will take some more photos
when it is light...

This one sits on Louise designwall...

"Old Tobacco Road"
It will be another gorgeous quilt!!!
( Will show some quilts made by her later)

Louise sews too..:o))
First days she started to tidy up...lol...
One cant sew if not.. at least I cant...
She sewed together all her little scraps to fun little blocks..
Hmmm.. why didnt I take a picture of those...
I´ll ask her... they are such a great way to use scraps for!!!

Here she is preparing a quilt for a little girl...
The quilt is so so sweet and very brilliant!!!
I love it... :o)
Louise will have a hard time giving it away...
And she got started on the quilting last night...
...and finished the quilting too...and put the binding on...
Hope I can show the almost fiished quilt later...

And after that she started a new one..lol...
then the clock was past midnight and we called it a day...

And today its a new sewingday..
I will continue with my blocks...
